Holiday News
As St. Luke Hometown Healthcare celebrates its one-year anniversary (December 4th) I am thrilled to say it has more than met our expectations. The number of patients who call St. Luke their “home” for healthcare seems to grow larger every day. So many of you remark about how comfortable and peaceful our office seems and when patients and family use the world “wonderful” to describe their experience, I simply reply, “We have such wonderful people for whom we care.”
The fact that we have a so-called “paperless” office, wherein we use EMRs (electronic medical records) often throws people, as there are always so many papers on my consultation room desk! These are mostly notes containing information which I have not yet had a chance to enter into the computer records, but typically I can keep up with this each day after the clinic closes.
AS each one of us looks toward the New Year I hope you will have as one resolution/objective getting as healthy as you can. This may be getting an annual physical examination, getting immunizations (like the flu vaccine, meningococcal or pneumococcal vaccines, etc.), getting your cardiac risks/cholesterol as low as possible, figuring out which supplements your body really needs and which ones you can stop purchasing, and (not to sound like The Grinch who Stole Christmas) getting help losing weight.
In fact do something different this year: when you think of gift giving to those you love or for whom you have special feelings, get them a health gift (a gift certificate good toward St. Luke’s, in their name.) There couldn’t be a better present to those we love than to give them that which may well keep them with us as long as possible!
One resolution I have for 2008 is to keep this news page of our website current, a task for which I never seemed to find time during the year past.
And so, at this glorious time when our Lord came as one of us, to show us the way, may you have joy and hope. And please be assured that St. Luke Hometown Healthcare is here for you.
